About Us Who we are
Our history goes as far back as 1995 where the founder, Mr. Daudi Machumu started to run the then Igongwe Bar at Mwenge. By that time there were quite a few popular bars, and most if not all of them did not offer dining services. It was uncommon to get lunch in any of the bars. The founder dared to introduce food in the bar, just like any other business, the initial stage was quite tough. After gaining popularity for foods services, the business moved to Kijitonyama. It was not until 1998 that the name BrakePoint came into use.
BrakePoint is one of the leading catering companies in the region, serving daily over 3000 meals per day on regular days. On peak seasons and on special events, BrakePoint handles over 7000 meals per day. Today, BrakePoint operates from 3 different outlets in Dar es Salaam while one in Arusha is currently under construction.
